Empty nest syndrome is a phenomenon I’ve experienced; having felt sadness and loss as my sons left home. The process of letting go can be painful. I’ve explored this through scale, metaphor and nostalgia, focusing on the poignancy and value of collected ephemera.
Two geometric nest structures are shown, built on palettes. One is placed outside and exposed to the elements.
