I am a multi-disciplinary artist, exploring some of the current issues of the day, through sculptural installation and digital image.
Prompted by personal experiences of feeling controlled and manipulated online, my current work explores the realm of black boxes, the cloud, algorithms and artificial intelligence. I’m fascinated by the extent to which we are in control of our experiences online, and how concerned we should be about this, and the emergence of AI.
Inquisitive by nature, I employ a forensic approach to gathering information, exploring concepts through continual experimentation with ideas, techniques and materials. I create digital moving image, and sculpture utilising black foil, combining the components into sculptural installations with video projection.
I confront the viewer with ambiguity, and challenge perceptions by exposing the unseen. In so doing, I encourage reflection and spark conversations about our online experiences. Through drawing attention to both the physical and unknown aspects of our digital interactions, my work serves as a prompt to consider the implications for the evolving relationship between humans, technology and AI.
