Driven by a feeling of alienation, my work explores the space and time between mythology and technology. Through research and play, I explore personal journeys and contemporary capitalist absurdities, often taking on imaginary collaborators and exaggerated personas.
This work follows the steps of Irish women from the 1800s, who raced up Dinedor Hill in Herefordshire, England, to collect the Cream of the Well for the mistress of a local Great house, Rotherwas House.
The water from the Holy Well on the hill was said to have beautifying properties and the maid who returned with the water first would receive extra pay.
