I am driven by a desire to revisit and recreate a sense of nostalgia through my imagery, particularly related to my childhood memories and experiences. I believe that film, as a material, allows me to capture and share these memories in a way that can trigger similar responses in those who view my work.
My desire to revisit these places that no longer exist in the same way, and to re-imagine them suggests a longing for connection to the past, and a desire to preserve and share these memories with others. By using personal observations, I’m able to create a sense of intimacy and connection, while also allowing others to relate to my experiences and find their own meaning within them.
Overall, my primary motivation is to explore and understand the power of nostalgia, using photography as a vice to express and share personal memories in order to understand both myself and how I can relate to others.
