Scape
As an explorer of landscape, internal as well as external, art melds together with life, in an ebb and flow of largely intuitive making.
Landscape has been seen from a variety of perspectives throughout the ages. Frequently it is viewed with detachment, and the focus is often upon the surface.
In the last year I have closely observed the new surroundings that I became resident within, watching the fluctuations of seasons, the coming and going of flora and fauna, those not bound by fences, creatures from the air and subterranean realms.
Working with materials gathered from the landscape as well as found objects and ready-mades, my work in this exhibition is a montage of biographical findings and outsourced material that questions boundaries, and embraces the depth of landscape, and how we identify our place within it, in its broadest sense
