Mixed media installation, plastic, wood, paint, found objects, projection mapping. 2020
When beginning my work, it reminisces around the acts of the mise-en-scène, playing with the configuration of space and object relationships. In this piece especially revolving around a reaction to Jack Hodges’ game currently in development “The Ford”; an accurate fully scaled life sim of medieval Hereford City center. It addresses thoughts of AI, free will, and current social concerns. My work can then progress to ask about the audience’s perspectives regarding the meanings surrounding those connections or possible disconnects.
The relationship between the found object, amalgams, and the ontology of their exponent parts investigate Posthumanist themes such as integration and throwaway culture in this post-industrial time-frame, being utilised as backgrounds for the projected forms, which are often themselves disproportionate.
