I am a designer-maker of quality and aesthetically driven objects of use: inspired by culinary and experience-based interaction between people-people and people-objects. I design and make work, such as Heath Robinsonesque coffee machines, to generate moments to be cherished, stemming from the moments of use.
Working with hot forged metal as the main medium, I embrace the seemingly emitting ambient warm glow that can be found within the handmade object. Allowing the product to hold the inert power to transform the act of using it from the mundane to the meaningful, valued and cherished.
Stepping away from the throwaway society to a place where our objects gain their longevity from our love and consideration for them: I aim to use craft and material culture to drive positive change in the interaction between people and the material world around us them.
