Since my early childhood I have been enchanted by nature, engaging with wild environments, their flora and fauna, but especially their rocks and minerals. Nature has always been the primary inspiration for my work but I am also influenced by ancient archaeology and the work of land artists. By using the forms, colours and materials of nature my goal is to create a spiritual bond between the user and the landscape that provided the materials for the piece. Wherever possible, the media I use are responsibly sourced by myself directly from nature and in a way that has minimal environmental impact. ‘Green’ energy is used in the making process and all pieces are biodegradable.
The techniques used in my work are often experimental and generally simple but labour intensive. My practice of using bespoke materials ensures my pieces have a deep, personal connection with the user offering a focal point for contemplation and meditation.
