Children of the War
Saints without Faces
Children of the War, Saints without Faces is a confluence of figurative and abstract paintings, film and digital photography based on personal history and trauma, collective memory and post war identity – my life in communism.
The series of works engage with iconography in a way that move between iconoclasm and a more nuanced engagement with form and symbolic power. There is a soft line between figuration and abstraction in my work, deliberately moving from one to another using distortion, blurring, and glitch effects to make expressive gestures and to create a story inside a story.
