Tiarna is a multimedium artist who specialises in metal and ceramic work. Her current work expresses her embodied experience of being in the natural landscape. This is done through making a series of responsive drawings of plants, places and textures – she then translates the drawings into tangible 3D items that can be worn or displayed. The pieces correspond to one another through materials, texture and pattern; when collaged together there is beauty in the irregularity and the fragility of each component.
The jewellery and wearable art are designed to be collaged together, the juxtaposition of the different elements articulate their irregularity, of shape, texture drawing attention to the surface patterns.
Tiarna’s designs stem from her love for nature. Her vision is to encourage others to think more consciously about their own environmental impact through their handling of and interaction with her work.
