Elliott’s practice is based around expressing the thoughts and opinions of others through forged metal; primarily are memorial items of relatives and loved ones who have passed or even events in your life you miss, and secondarily making gifts to be given.
For his project, he has made a memorial candle stand for his father, ‘memorialising’ his grandfather who has not passed but who sadly has dementia and is now only with us in body’ The heights of the candles varies to show the decline in his personality and what made him Grandad.
The other objects here are gifts, the laptop stand was made for his partner who wanted something ‘rusty and brutal’ as well as candle sticks which doubled up as good practice for his main project.
He is willing to make any and anything he can in order to build up a portfolio and develop his skills.
