This project shows photographs of lace in the woods. I wanted to highlight the contrast of the natural environment intersecting with delicate fabric. I want my pictures to feel like a blip in the woods. As a lace maker, I feel the material represents my alter ego, my creative persona.
I deliberately opted for darker images to avoid stereotypically presenting the woods. This involved using strobe light instead of natural light, stressing the mysterious allure of the forest as a place of shadows.
