Textured Spaces
New Materialist theory has informed the methodology of my practice-based study in textiles. By capturing movement through photography, surface pattern design, printmaking, pleating and a range of digital processes, I have explored the intra-agency between artist, material, process, time, space and light. I have investigated the contingency between textile processes, ideas and materials that inform my responses and how these manifest the qualities of agency in my textiles. I have sought to create ‘textured spaces’ that translate how different matter can connect together in a transformative way.
