I am an Artist Blacksmith who focuses on interior design and furniture production where function and aesthetics are balanced. I create for the joy of making things; as a person, I am in my element when working with my hands, and this craft gives me a way of expressing that. I use heavy texturing to create an aesthetic that resonates with natural forms such as the many states wood can come in; this process works very well in steel. The manipulated surface gives a unique look not often found in contemporary forge work. Through this, my work connects to the idea of living in tune with the physiological needs of humans. I convey that we should live more simply by investing in the well made rather than the mass-produced items; high-quality craftsmanship that can stand the test of time and can be used by numerous generations.
