Beloved Valley
Beloved Valley is a place -responsive body of work which explores how creative practice supports attunement and builds embodied relationships between people and environments. I’ve worked with two main threads of research which have unspooled and tangled together ; the first being the role creative practice plays in experiencing and documenting place and the second, how material engagement can make love visible and become an act of care and honouring. I have developed a methodology of attunement using writing, drawing, photographing, field recording, printmaking, ceramics hand-building and curation ; each process a translation of or response to the one that came before. Grounded in my wild little plot of land on the Welsh border, I have sought to build an authentic, expansive and ultimately careful testament to it through my creative practice.
