I grew up in the beauty of Cambridgeshire’s Fenland, which inspired my passion for drawing, painting and photography. My mixed media art has a contemporary feel which deals with issues I am passionate about, for example, nature and wildlife, climate change and the environment along with personal issues such as identity and place.
This work is informed by ideas of identity, context, status and perceived gender roles. I dressed to suggest a particular status in society and period of history and placed myself in contexts that raise questions about identity and the expectations and assumptions in contemporary society.
