Rosina-May Jervis

Rosina is a macabre artist who enjoys eliciting a response from the viewers of her work. She displays a range of different deceased remains, pieces that people may see as horrific and combines them with materials which people perceive as beautiful.  Rosina’s aim is to show the viewers that death is not a terrifying thing but rather one to be embraced and celebrated.  It is not a scary subject that should be feared but one that is a natural occurrence in life.

Her inspirations come from nature where the themes of life after death are an everyday thing, seeing life grow from the decay creates a magickal presence with different and unique results each time.  Using primarily natural materials, like bone and flora, Rosina hopes to capture the magickal calm and unique presence that death has in the natural world and brings it into the modern-day life.
