“It’s nice to have nice things.”
It is a phrase I have found myself using more and more as I try to curate a collection of belongings that I encounter in my everyday, on a shoestring budget. Of course we shouldn’t be driven by material objects, however many objects are necessities with a purpose, and it is purpose which drives my making process.
I am a crafts person working in stoneware clays, creating visually interesting everyday objects. Experimentation with glazing drives my visual process, often designing ware to draw attention to glaze combinations.
