Thematically, my current area of exploration is intended to raise awareness of the dangers of wildfires, as well as their position in climate change. In regard to form, this finished work consists of eighteen candles in groups of three. Through a ritual not dissimilar to one found in a church, each viewer will be able to place a candle and by participating will exchange their time for awareness of a serious issue.
Seen before you is my work created with this idea in mind. The construction of this work is relatively simple, by effectively employing several forging techniques, namely setting-down for overlapping joints and drifting) a larger work is made.
