The title of this series of photos is ‘In the Frame’. I wanted to express and ‘frame’ the thoughts and voices of the women across different decades and compare the similarities and differences of the objective’s women have fought for over the years. I wanted to explore whether or not things have moved forward from the first protests of my chosen movements. In this series I tried to convey a visual timeline of the words and standards that women had to uphold in different eras of time. I was particular interested in more modern movements such as the Me-Too movement, The Legalisation of Abortion, Education for Women and the uprise of the lesbian and gay communities. I chose to look into the movements as these still have a bigger relevance in society and my life because women to this every day, across the world, are still fighting and debating for these basic human rights.
