As a passionate collector of both vintage and contemporary figures and toys, I embarked on an exciting project to create a unique collection of 3D-printed figures, all inspired by a fantastical world of my own creation. The centerpiece of this collection features the main protagonist and villain from my story, bringing these characters to life in a tangible and visually striking way.
The process began with digital sculpting, where I designed every detail of these characters using 3D modeling software. This phase allowed me to fully realize their personalities and features, ensuring they were both visually captivating and true to my creative vision.
Once the digital models were perfected, I transitioned to 3D printing, experimenting with various sizes to see how the figures would look and feel in different dimensions. This hands-on experience was incredibly rewarding, as I learned the nuances of 3D printing technology and how to transform 2D illustrations into fully-fledged 3D objects.
The journey from concept to physical model was both challenging and exhilarating. It involved overcoming technical hurdles and refining my techniques, which ultimately enriched my understanding and appreciation of the art form.
Looking ahead, beyond my degree, I am eager to continue honing these skills. My goal is to leverage this expertise in 3D modeling and printing to develop my own indie game, where I can bring more of my creative ideas to life. This project has ignited a deep passion for merging traditional artistry with modern technology, and I am excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead.
