As an artist I wanted to show the relationship between the manmade and natural world. Through my work I wanted my images to give the impression that the natural world is taking over the architecture. As a primarily urban and architectural photographer I wanted to bring a grittier, dark viewpoint to this topic. This outlook paired with the double exposure process, helped to create the desired atmosphere. My work tends to either show the reality and the truth of the subject, or in the case of my nature work, to be more abstract and so the user can decipher what the subject is themselves. As an artist I feel like this project reflects the way I can pair my two very different approaches to photography.
