I am a contemporary blacksmith driven by a desire to provide, locally forged “affordable” architectural ironwork whose quality will mean it outlasts my lifetime. Creativity to me comes from chasing a process until the material speaks to me and tells me what it wants to become. I am inspired by process and the movement of steel while forging it, steel is always trying to give you a gift, by embracing this the material takes on a life of its own.
It is through this process that the pieces grow their meaning. As a process driven designer I embrace all techniques, including modern and traditional, to create timeless works that are made around the movement and interaction of steel which I then translate into functional design-led iron work that meets the brief of the commissioning customers.
