Huw’s work is primarily architectural ironwork that explores the relationship between function and form. Asking the question; why can’t this Gate also be a Sculpture? This includes gates, railings, and balconies, as well as furniture pieces. It is also highly inspired by, derived from, or may directly depict forms found within natures setting. His current investigation is playing with the forms found within vines and is an interpretation of the interactions between nature and the man-made. Huw creates artworks that are bespoke and that can be treasured and valued on commission for both private and public use. The Architectural ironwork is visually stimulating, with a modern style and with an attractive aesthetic within today’s society. The work has a contemporary grace whilst utilising traditional forging techniques. Using primarily mild steel or wrought iron to create long-lasting, dependable, and reliable pieces.
